Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia was suspended for six months for grave abuse of authority. Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez also filed a case against the lady governor of Cebu for allegedly withholding the budget allotted for his office.
After hearing reports. President Benigno Aquino III immediately instructed then Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.
Secretary Mar Roxas of DILG receives the copy of the suspension order and was asked to implement it immediately. Vice Gov. Agnes Almendras Magpale will temporarily replace Garcia's position.
Garcia's supporters went to the provincial capitol and put some barricades to show their support. Garcia was not in the office according to reports.
