Aga Mulach Lost

Actor Aga Mulach lost to his rival Wimpy Fuentebella. Mulach who runs for congress has 80,629 votes while Fuentebella has 82, 834 votes for the fourth district of Camarines Sur. Mulach rejected and protested on Fuentebellas proclamation by the Commission on Election saying that two barangays were not included in the tabulation of votes. The COMELEC said the said number of votes will not affect the figures.

Ronald Singson optimistic of another chance in House

Former Ilocos Sur congressman Ronald Singson remains positive and hopeful that his bid for a "second chance" in congress will succeed.

(Reuters) - Britain and admirers worldwide are mourning Margaret Thatcher, who has died aged 87, as the "Iron Lady" who rolled back the state and faced down her enemies during 11 years as Britain's first woman prime minister.

Her impact on the 1980s was such that opponents, including Labour's Tony Blair and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, led tributes to a legacy that radically transformed the British economy along free-market lines now widely taken for granted and includes her role in the peaceful end to the Cold War.

China will offer up to 300,000 yuan($48,200) as a cash reward to people who report on others who violate food safety laws, state media said on Tuesday, as the government tries again to crack down on a persistent problem.

"Actions taken to report violations of food and drug safety laws will be rewarded," state news agency Xinhua said. "The reward for each case, in principle, will not exceed 300,000 yuan."
