Sexual Acts among Lumads in Shelter areas banned in Davao City

Maria Luisa Bermudo City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) head, said that sexual acts while in shelter areas is strictly prohibited among Lumads during their stay in the city. Shelter areas are considered public thus, sexual activity is not allowed.

Bermudo also said that they have removed giving the Lumads a private room as this sometimes became the root cause of misunderstanding among Lumads. Some Lumads used the private room for sexual activity with other partners said Senior Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa, Davao City Police Office chief, which can sometimes cause quarrels when caught.

Councilor Berino Mambo-o, Indigenous People's representative to the City Council, agreed to the new rule of CSSDO. Aside from sexual acts, smoking and drinking of any alcoholic drink is also prohibited.
