The international singer Lea Salonga clarifies that she did not "diss or attack Anne Curtis" but is insulted by "off-key singers who call themselves singers," according to PEP website.

Reports says that supporters of  Curtis got mad at Salonga for allegedly insulting their idol just because she can't sing well like other singers. The root of all this was the report posted on interaksyon.net when she was asked who among of the singers in the Philippines would she want to be in a particular concert.

The reporter named Anne Curtis who recently has a successful concert last January 28. Lea answered,  "No. Sorry," and explained  "No offense to her. But you said, what singer?"
"I am a singer. And I consider myself a singer. I consider Regine Velasquez, Rachelle Anne Go, Sarah Geronimo, Zsa Zsa Padilla—those are singers. And you know, on the one hand, for purposes of self-promotion, puts out an album that is well-produced naman and it's okay, it's fine, I guess. But I get offended when somebody who clearly cannot sing represents himself or herself as a singer."

Interaksyon.net had apologized to both Lea and Anne and said that "Ms. Salonga did not 'diss' Ms. Curtis, and was in fact going to great lengths to give her fellow entertainer respect and props." Click here for the full report.
