Supreme Court Clerk of Court Enriqueta Esguerra-Vidal was forced to show, surrender and release the statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona in front of the senator judges, the prosecution and the entire Filipino people.
“I’m in a quandary, in a dilemma because I am covered by the rules of court,” Vidal said.
However, Senator Franklin Drilon said the impeachment court has the right to subpoena the SALN.
Presiding Judge and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile also said, “take note that this court has the sole power to decide this case. We can’t be impeded by any agency in the performance of its duty.”
“You are now ordered by the chair to surrender these records to this court,” Enrile added.
