Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo said that there will be no cellphone and no computer for Gloria Arroyo when she will be transferred to the Veterans’ Memorial Medical Center. Robredo said this is to show that the government is exercising fair treatment to whoever is under its custody and that to let the public know that there is no VIP treatment as what has been reported.
But Arroyo’s camp questioned the said policy and reiterates that the ex-president is a workaholic and that despite her illness she would also like to give updates and be of service to her constituents in Pampanga even through emails only.
Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio said they will ask the Pasay Regional Trial Court to give a 5-day extension to Mrs. Arroyo’s transfer to the Veterans Medical Center if in case she is still sick.
