After 5 days of being hit by Typhoon Sendong, the death toll now reached to 1,010 and more than 50 are still missing. The estimated cost of damaged has been estimated to P1 billion according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Many countries expressed their concerns to the Philippines and promised to give donations in cash. The French embassy in Manila said that the French government is willing to give €50,000 apart from the €3 million donated by the Delegation of the European Union in the Philippines. Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe handed out the 25 million worth of goods to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The United States also give $100,000. Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia also pledged to give cash donations.
Foreign aid are pouring hoping that the victims will regain their strength and survive once more.
