Manila, Philippines- Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri had just delivered his resignation speech at the Senate plenary hall, on August 3, 2011. In his speech he said that his resignation is triggered by the appearance of new witnesses regarding the 2007 election fraud. According to Zubiri, his family and his supporters are deeply hurt with the baseless accusation raised against him. He also said that he and his family did not ask anyone to cheat on his behalf and that he would also not tolerate it. "I did not abused my power even when I was still a congressman"Zubiri said.
