The Philippines is on the 8th spot in the recent HSBC's Expat Explorer Survey. Becoming the 8th friendliest country in the world is another victory for the recent slogan launch by the Department of Tourism-it's more fun in the Philippines.
There are 3,385 respondents among 100 countries surveyed by HSBC but only 31 nations were validated as some country respondents are below 30 and "were deemed statistically insignificant," according to Forbes.com report.
Ability to befriend locals, success in learning the local language, capacity for integrating themselves into the community, and ease in which they fit into the new culture are among the four categories in which each country is being judged.
Among the top 10 countries are the following:
  1. New Zealand
  2. Australia
  3. South Africa
  4. Canada
  5. United States
  6. Turkey
  7. United Kingdom
  8. Philippines
  9. Spain
  10. Malaysia
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Russia and India are the countries that are least friendly  for expats, according to the Forbes formula.
