Manila, Philippines- The motion for reconsideration submitted by the Office of the Solicitor General was rejected by the Supreme Court. The 8-5 votes maintains the TRO allowing the former president to leave the country to seek medical treatment abroad despite the watch list order given by the Department of Justice.
The Supreme Court also directed Sec. Leila de Lima to explain why she should not be held in contempt for not following the SC decision on Tuesday and instead barred the Arroyos from leaving the country despite the TRO issued. De Lima is given 10 days to answer and if found guilty she will be ask to pay P30,000 or an imprisonment of not more than 6 months or both.
