Lawsuit: Man fired for not wearing "666" sticker

Atlanta- Billy E. Hyatt, a factory worker since 2007 claimed that he was fired from work because he did not wear the '666' sticker of the company. Pliant Corp now known as Berry Plastics Corp asks its employees to wear sticker everyday indicating how long the factory existed without any accident.

Hyatt, a devout christian said that just like other employees he did wore stickers everyday but when the number of days reaches '666' he talked to the manager and explain why he can't wear it that day. The manager agreed with him. On March 12, 2009 Hyatt discuss his request with his manager and told him that his beliefs were "ridiculous" and that he should wear the sticker or he will be suspended for 3 days.

Hyatt, took the three day suspension but was later fired.

He filed his complain at Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and won the case.

Hyatt said that he was force by the company to choose between keeping his job or abandon his religious beliefs.
