DasmariƱas, Philippines- A bank teller and a guard were both declared dead on arrival after sustaining numerous gun shots. Security guard Felipe Cipres died on the spot while Rey Tingco, a teller of the Robinson’s Bank inside the Robinson’s Place in Barangay Pala-pala, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds. Melu Quinabandal, another guard who was also involved in the exchange of shots with the robbers was in the hospital. An initial report from the DasmariƱas police station said that the bank teller was carrying 5 million pesos for the JMY money changer shop who was also inside the mall when they were attacked by the robbers. Along with the victims was a certain Eduardo Noel Malayba, a liaison officer of JMY. Police authorities have not confirmed if Malayba was also hurt.
The police have yet to confirm if the money was taken by the robbers or not.
