Mayor Henry Danao of Lingig Surigao del Sur was kidnapped from his house at 6:30 in the morning by men in uniform. Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr, said that Danao was kidnapped by men in camouflage uniforms riding three vans and is heading towards Davao Oriental for their escape. As of this writing there is no reports as to the whereabouts of the mayor.
As remembered, it was May 5, 2010 when the then mayor and now Vice Mayor of Lingig, Roberto Luna Jr, was also abducted along with hi 4 body guards.
