Senator Panfilo Lacson passed a proposal, Senate Bill 2803, strengthening Articles 180, 183 and 184 in the Revised Penal  Code that deals with false testimony. He proposed P1 million fine and disqualification from any public office if any government official are found guilty of doing such thing.
According to Lacson,  the bill warrants approval because “[t]he assertion of falsehood, under oath or affirmation, is becoming prevalent. False testimonies and sworn statements are sometimes being used to support malicious complaints with the intent of harassing and persecuting innocent persons."As remembered, Lacson was denied the allegation that he is the mastermind of the Dacer-Corbito case and hide for quite sometime in the eyes of the public. For him these are nothing but pure accusations and false testimony of witnesses.
